Mile End Deli

Overview

I've often wondered why no one ever attempts to update Jewish food or make it hip. Just like any cuisine, Jewish food can be made cool. Enter, Mile End Deli.  Straight from Montreal these guys are smoking meat, putting it all over everything, and updating the food that I grew up loving in a Jewish household. They now have 3 locations, the best of which is a cozy diner with 4 tables, a few bar stools, and an open kitchen.  Judging from the lines you know that others have discovered how goddamn delicious the food tastes. Their smoked meat ends up on hash, poutine, and fresh rye bread piled high. They have offerings like chopped liver, reubens, and whitefish salad on bagels from their shop Blackseed. The Mile End team puts a real emphasis on monthly or seasonal/holiday specials so you will never get jaded with the food. Think smoked meat bao buns at Christmas and assorted latkes at Hannukah.
