Overview
Owners of my favorite summer time hang spot, Pig Beach, have opened a year-round venue in Greenwich Village. Unlike its sister, Pig Bleeker is contemporary and sleek...plus there's walls. Good god do I love the food that chef/owner Matt Abdoo pumps out of this kitchen. He describes his menu as “refined, smoke-centric comfort food." Lunch, dinner, and the soon-to-launch brunch are all a home run. At lunch time Abdoo serves up phenomenal sandwiches piled high with pit beef, smoked pastrami, double patty burgers, and muffalettas. At dinner you'll find refined comfort food like grandma's meatballs & lasagna with smoked duck ragu. They might have the greatest chicken on planet earth - smoked and then fried, served for the table with cheesy grits & waffles. Whether you go for sandwiches, fresh pasta, or a whole hunk of beef, every dish is guaranteed to delight. Easily my favorite restaurant opening of 2017.
