Gansevoort Market

I always dreamed of living in a land where all my food dreams could come true. Where all the things I love- tacos, noodles, pizza, crepes, and even sometimes my friends- could exist in the same space. Well, today I live in that land and you can too. Food halls have been popping up all over NYC. The style of dining popularized by seasonal markets like Smorgasburg have come inside to permanent locations. Some of the best are Gotham West Market, Urban Space Vanderbilt, and Gansevoort Market. Gone are the days of shitty grab-n-go food halls. You can get some of the freshest, painstakingly crafted, unique dining experiences in these places. Gansevoort Market has reopened in its second location and has some killer options today. You can literally eat around the world in 15 minutes, returning 20 times and never having the same meal twice. Here are just a few of the fantastic vendors coming to you at their new location:

Urbanspace Outdoor Markets

image.jpg

Spring is upon us and that means the return of outdoor food markets - HOLLA! One of my favorite curators of this is Urbanspace. They bring together a powerhouse lineup of food vendors at these outdoor pop ups. Many of the vendors are among NYC’s most popular fast(ish) food including Roberta’s, Hill Country BBQ, and Ice & Vice. Throughout the Spring, Summer & Fall the market takes turns at different locations for 4-5 weeks at a time. The locations include Madison Square Park, Broadway Bites near Macy's, and the Garment District. This operates 7 days a week, typically from 11am-9pm. You will find food from around the globe ranging from Indian, Italian, Thai, Colombian, and Chinese to name a few. There is literally no craving that can’t be satisfied here. Some vendors are at all 3 markets, while each location has restaurants that are unique to itself.  They also have plenty of beer to go around. Below is a list of market dates & locations, followed by pictures of what you can expect to be stuffing your face with!

I'm not positive that anyone besides my dad actually reads what I write. But, if you are one of the few, you know that I love variety. I'd rather have 1 bite of 10 dishes than 10 bites of 1 dish. Lucky for my stomach, the trend of food halls popping up in NYC over the last few years has taken hold and shows no signs of stopping. These permanent locations can be found all over the city at Gotham West Market, Gansevoort Hall, and Urbanspace Vanderbilt. These are not the food halls of your childhood with a Panda Express and Auntie Anne's (shout out to pretzel bites). These spaces are packed are grade-A, hella delicous, top of their class grub.

Urbanspace has been curating city spaces since 1972 in the UK. They came to the US and opened seasonal food markets all over NYC. They are responsible for Madison Square Eats, Broadway Bites, Urbanspace Garment District, as well as the Union Square holiday market. Their most recent venture is the their permanent location at Grand Central. The space is always buzzing with action; packed with the jet set crowd. Inside the market you will find over 20 chef driven concepts to choose from. The options take you around the globe from Mexico, to Japan, Israel, and then back home for a burger.

You can get pizza here from the famed Robera's; which is arguably the best pizza in New York. Some of the greatest food on earth between bread lives here too. Grab an insane burger at Hard Times Sundaes, a lobster role from Red Hook Lobster, or a dreamy fried chicken sandwich at Delaney Chicken. You can get stellar ramen from Ippudo or a sushi burrito from Hai Street Kitchen. They have tons of options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and boozing. It's my happy place, I'm there all the time, you are stupid if you aren't too. Here's what you'll be having:
